Children across Roger Ascham Primary School enjoyed an unforgettable experience when the Night Owls display arrived on site. Originally arranged as part of the Year 1 science curriculum topic, "Animals Including Humans", the event was opened up to the whole school so that all pupils could enjoy seeing these magnificent birds up close.

Captivating experiences and memorable moments

During the visit, pupils learnt fascinating details about the habitats, diets, and physical features of owls while watching them in action. To make the morning extra special, children also had the opportunity to have their photograph taken alongside the birds, creating lasting memories of their encounter.

Beyond the biological concepts explored in science lessons, the visit provided a rich stimulus for literacy. The awe and wonder generated by the event inspired pupils across Roger Ascham Primary School to create outstanding pieces of writing across a range of genres, including:
