Roger Ascham Primary School pupils race at Chingford Plains

A display of stamina and school spirit in the borough cross-country event

On Saturday 14th March, the open spaces of Chingford Plains played host to an exhilarating morning of athletics. A dedicated group of pupils from Roger Ascham Primary School joined over 500 children from across the borough to participate in the annual cross country competition.

Under a bright spring sky, our young runners tackled a challenging one-mile course. The event saw a fantastic turnout of both boys and girls, each demonstrating remarkable perseverance and physical endurance. It was a proud moment for the school community as the Roger Ascham Primary School vest was seen sprinting across the finish line amongst a highly competitive field of runners.

The atmosphere was electric, with plenty of support on the sidelines. Our pupils were cheered on by a chorus of enthusiastic parents and Ms Scott, who noted the incredible sporting conduct and determination shown by every child involved. Participating in such a large-scale borough event is a significant achievement, and it was wonderful to see our pupils embracing the challenge with such energy.

Congratulations to all the children who took part and represented our school so brilliantly. We look forward to seeing our runners continue to develop their skills in future events.
